Alternative Investments

Alternative investments are those other than the three traditional investments (stocks, bonds, cash); these can include hedge funds, managed futures, real estate, commodities, as well as many others. Alternative investments have the potential to add another element of diversification to your portfolio by adding an asset that may be uncorrelated to the rest of your investments. Many of these investments carry significant risk and a lack of liquidity. When considering these investments all factors concerning the client's risk profile and financial standing will be examined to determine whether or not an Alternative Investment may be suitable for your portfolio.
